Scheduling An Appointment
Patients presented with oral surgery related problems, such as infected wisdom teeth or in need of dental implants, are typically referred by their general dentists. In such cases, it is necessary for you to arrange a Referral letter and OPG radiograph prior scheduling an appointment. You may either request your referring practitioner to send this documentation via email to us or, alternatively, capture clear images of referral letter and OPG radiograph and forward to our administrative email given in the referral letter. It is important to note that this step is a prerequisite for scheduling an appointment with our clinic.
In situations, where a patient lacks a referral letter but wishes to directly schedule an appointment with us, this is permissible. However, the patient must arrange an OPG radiograph from his/her dentist or request a referral from our clinic to take an OPG radiograph (covered by Medicare) prior to finalising a direct appointment with us.
Upon successful appointment booking, patients are required to promptly complete a secured online registration form. This ensures swift access to our oral surgery services. The link to this form can be accessed below for your convenience.
Scheduling An Emergency Appointment
Should you require immediate access to emergency oral surgery services, we aim to facilitate swift assistance. Please note that before confirming your emergency appointment, we’ll need an OPG radiograph and completion of an online registration form. If you don’t have an OPG radiograph, we can send a OPG referral letter to your email or local radiology department.
Emergency services are only available with local anaesthesia for minor oral surgery procedures. Consultation and procedures are generally completed in the same appointment for emergencies.
Referral Letter
Typically, dental, and medical practitioners refer patients to us for oral surgery-related concerns through a referral letter. To initiate the appointment process, your practitioner or you can email us the referral letter using the email address provided on the referral letter. Your dental or medical practitioner can send an online REFERAL FORM.
Alternatively, if you don’t have a referral letter, you can request a direct appointment with us by filling out an online APPOINTMENT FORM.
OPG Radiograph and CBCT/CT Scan
A current OPG radiograph is a prerequisite before confirming an appointment. Generally, your referring practitioners will help in obtaining the OPG radiograph. However, should you require assistance, we are readily available to provide a new OPG referral upon request.
In certain situations, the oral surgeon may recommend a CBCT or CT scan, particularly when teeth are near the jaw nerve or in preparation for dental implant planning. We will provide a referral for such scans as deemed necessary.
On our referral, both OPG and CBCT or CT scans are covered by Medicare.
